Late cancellation and non-attendance
At DMC, we have limited appointments available.
If you cancel an appointment at late notice, or do not attend a booked appointment, we are unable to re-fill the appointment time-slot.
We consider late cancellation applies to appointments that are cancelled with less than 24 hours notice before the appointment time. This does not give us enough time to re-book with other families.
Non-attendance means that you do not attend for a booked appointment
In the situation of either late cancellation, or non-attendance, you will be charged a fee of 50% of the consultation. Please note that:
- the fee is not eligible for a rebate from Medicare.
- the fee must be paid before any further services are provided by DMC.
- administration staff are not able to make the decision to waive this fee.
Waiving the fee
If there have been exceptional circumstances, and you wish to discuss a waiver of the fee, please send a written request. Letter or email (to the practice email address) are acceptable requesting the fee to be waived with some explanation.
Any final decision to waive the cancellation fee is made by the relevant doctor.
