As we are retiring from consulting practice at the end of this year, parents are asking who they should see to provide continuing care for their child / children. We will discuss this in more detail when we meet with you face to face.
This page is to summarise possibilities we are aware of, information currently available on the Internet. Who you choose to continue to see depends on what you and your child will need for ongoing medical care:
- Specialist developmental paediatrician (if there are complex ongoing issues to manage)
- General paediatrician (you need somebody for general guidance and management of medication, but you are able to manage your child othewise)
- General practitioner (for regular review, including some medications that do not need specialist prescription)
- Psychiatrist - particularly for older children moving to adult care, who need ongoing medication management.
You may wish to use the NBPSA 'Find A Specialist' tool.
